Busy Babies

It's Friday night and we're sitting here watching the Ranger game, and I'm trying to wind down and recall all of the things the kids did this week that I want to remember- that I want to pass on to our family who can't see them grow everyday and make their new discoveries.

Jack- his new word this week is "go" and this little man says his new word very enthusiastically, "Go!" He uses his new word to describe his toy truck and to chatter at his sister, but his favorite use for this new word is to point outside and encourage us to take him out in the backyard where he throws golfballs, plays bubbles, and zooms all over the place. Jack is also trying to figure out how this whole running thing works- he knows that he wants to move faster than just a walk, but his momentum seems to get the best of him sometimes. He is still only sporting two teeth, but he's been super drooly this week, so we're hoping that's a sign of teeth to come.

Harper-she is full of little gestures and she makes connections that surprise us everyday, but this week Harper has been a dancing fool. She does a dance that we call "happy feet dance" and it cracks us up. This dance looks like she's stomping, but it's quick- just four or five steps- and sometimes it's on the move, sometimes it's stationary, but it's always cute, and Harper is starting to do this dance by request. Harper is also fake yawning by request, which just involves her opening her mouth as wide as possible and then grinning. Harper has also been trying to do everything Jack does. For instance, Jack managed to climb into Abby's chair yesterday, and Harper insisted on following; Abby wasn't too thrilled, but here they are.
The kids have also been interested in the laundry lately. Jack likes watching the clothes go round and round in the dryer, and when the dryer stops he says "all done". Harper is more interested in pulling the clothes out of the hamper and putting the clothes back in the hamper.

I'm also including my favorite shots of the kids from this time last year- they're getting "so big"!
