We have spent the week taking lots of walks because the weather here has been so nice. I love getting out in the spring; we've been talking to our neighbors, letting the wind blow our hair, and exploring new things like trees, flowers, and friendly dogs who always want to greet Abby.
We've also spent a few days this week working on spoon skills. I think they're getting the hang of it, but they still need a lot of practice.
The kids have been interacting much more in the past couple of months, but these past few days we've really taken notice that they not only acknowledge each other, but they seem to really like each other. They were both taking a bath earlier in the week and Harper was sitting closest to the "best" toys and was facing Jack while Jack had his back to Harper, but was finding that he was out of toys to play with. Jack began to scoot back to try and retrieve a boat; as he encroached on Harper's space, she reached out with both hands and pushed him in the back. The push wasn't hard, but it made him take notice and stop moving. I'm not sure what it was about this, but Harper got tickled and started giggling. She would put her hands in the water, and then take both hands and put them on Jack's back and just laugh and laugh; then her laughing caused Jack to laugh- it was so cute to watch.
Tonight before Tony got home, the kids were playing with their ride on Jeeps and Jack started pushing a Jeep around the dining room. I put Harper in the driver's seat of the Jeep, and Jack took off pushing her. Harper thought this was hilarious and belly laughed the whole time. It was fantastic! Here are some pics of the dynamic duo in action.
